Sustainability Engineer -AIEMA
In 2015 my career in building compliance and sustainability began, initially within an Account Management role at a national building compliance consultancy and certification company. My position allowed me to gain a holistic understanding of the field, and I became familiar with compliance and sustainability services – from BREEAM assessments to pre-completion air testing, through RIBA Stages 0 to 7,
Pursuing a more technical role within Energy Assessment, I joined NOVO in summer 2019, where I will be able to put my theoretical knowledge to practise. Here, I am receiving the training required to become a qualified On-Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) and Non Domestic Energy Assessor (NDEA), and will produce domestic and commercial energy assessments (SAP and SBEM) as part of NOVO’s Sustainability team.
I am highly focussed on the subject of Sustainability, having attained Associate Membership to the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) to gain further knowledge of the social, economic and environmental impact of businesses, along with the various environmental regulations and laws that govern our nation’s sustainability goals.
My interest in Sustainability initially developed when I studied Geography at high school, which I continued through to degree level at University of Chester. In 2008, I delivered a presentation at the Shanghai International Science Expo about the use of renewable technology within schools.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, TV, movies, gym and learning Japanese.
