The Local Crescent is a proposed unique community comprising 399 apartments and seven townhouses spread across two 22 and 16 storey towers.
The development is a fundamental element of the £800m masterplan to transform the city region of Salford - a joint initiative by Salford City Council and the University of Salford. The aspiration of the masterplan is to bring together five different development zones to create a new district with a world class centre of learning, collaboration and industry at its heart.
The Local Crescent is the sister-scheme of the Local Blackfriars - another high-rise residential development in the heart of Salford.
The towers have been designed to complement the local architectural context and terraces reinforce the street scene, reflecting the significant grade II listed Crescent terraces adjacent.
NOVO have provided the RIBA Stage C planning stage report and drawings, as well as the Sustainability checklist too meet the Salford Council requirements. Sustainable and energy efficient systems such as Combined Heat and Power Systems serving district heating mains, LED Lighting and rainwater harvesting are being provided to the building.
