Gas-Fired Boilers in Pursuit of Carbon Savings

Updated: Feb 1, 2019

The use of renewable or low-carbon systems for the provision of heat and hot water has risen massively in the last decade.

Heat pumps are a prime example of the growth in sustainable technologies that has taken place. As fantastic as these solutions are; high efficiency gas fired boilers can achieve a carbon saving that follows closely – predominately within commercial systems.

Tests have been carried out on gas fired condensing boilers and the result is they can reach high efficiencies but are often operated at lower levels of efficiency. This means that existing boilers could be altered to ensure the maximum efficiency is being achieved and reaching a high carbon saving.

Some local authorities offer a cashback scheme for those who choose to upgrade their heating and/or hot water systems for carbon savings.
